Quietest one ever..

Oversleeping caused us to be quite late early in the morning. First zoomed to the mosque near us and when we got out, the khutbah was already on, meaning that we missed the Eid Prayers. Zoomed to another mosque only to see people streaming out so we missed that one too.

Went back home. The husband consulted Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller’s Reliance of A Traveller translation and we prayed at home. Not 100% sure if that is ok but we overslept so may we be forgiven. Called mum. She asked, “Masak apa raya ni? “
I answered truthfully. ” Masak air. Buat bancuh milo..” Had she slapped her forehead, I couldn’t tell.

Went out again and bought some roadside lemang and rendang. The lemang was too soft to be a good lemang and the rendang was too salty. It was raining. So we went home and had those for breakfast. The husband was having fever so he slept right after that. I slept for a while too and got up and completed some reports due this week.

After zuhur we were invited to a student’s house whose mum knew of our ‘just-the-two-of-us’ Eidul Adha and invited us over. Ate proper ‘raya food’ and watched the news with them about the landslide victims. Felt quite emotionally thankful and grateful at my own blessings when looking at their plight. Them developers who had insisted on those projects, in the after world, you have a lot of answering to do I reckon.

We got home and rested again. Contemplating watching Twilight. If that happens later tonight, this will be the first raya I’d go to the movies.

Eidul Adha Mubarak , Selamat Hari Raya….
